“BUDDY BREW COFFEE—Going inside of SPROUTS,” says a recent post by local insider Bokors Corner on Instagram. “Valrico – Buddy Brew Coffee is being built INSIDE the existing Sprouts Farmers Market building.”
This is a new move for a local coffee chain that currently has nine locations, including its food truck and its outpost in Terminal F of the Tampa International Airport. Its coffee is also available at more than 1,000 grocery stores nationwide: “From our signature whole bean coffees to our refreshing BOLT Organic Cold Brew, you can find your favorite Buddy Brew Coffee products at a retailer near you.”
This week, What Now came across submitted plan review paperwork that shows not one but two openings in the works inside Sprouts Farmers Market location. The Valrico store is located at 3315 Lithia Pinecrest Road, while another location, in Tampa, is planned for the Sprouts Farmers Market at 15110 N Dale Mabry Highway.
Bokors Corner gives additional details, citing further paperwork on three points: (1) “Buddy Brew will occupy the front portion of the interior space,” (2) “Sprouts will continue operating,” and (3) “They are also adding a Buddy Brew to their Dale Mabry location.” (Sure enough!)
What Now reached out to Buddy Brew Coffee CEO & Co-Founder Dave Ward to ask about plans for these new locations. Ward was not immediately available for comment.
“Our success is rooted in a simple motto that affects everything we do: ‘Brew Good. Do Good,’” says the Buddy Brew website. “That mission is lived out through a commitment to sourcing specialty grade coffees through direct relationships with farmers. We work with smallholder coffee farmers and women-owned co-ops, always paying highly equitable prices so these farmers can thrive.”
