Sunny’s is ready to continue its shine on the Alamo City with a new location set to open at The Rim. Culture Map reports that the owner of San Antonio’s Albi’s Vite Italian Kitchen is embarking on opening the second Sunny’s this spring. The new Sunny’s will operate out of the former Mash’d spot at 17623 La Cantera Pkwy, UNIT 107.
Owner of the all-day brunch and bar, Albi Zogaj, shared with What Now San Antonio that the newest addition to the family is slated to open in March or April.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this spot,” Zogaj said via email.
“Choosing the former Mash’d location at The Rim was intentional — it sits at the crossroads of local lifestyle and destination dining. The Rim is one of San Antonio’s most active neighborhoods, blending residents, visitors, and weekend crowds. The energy here matches Sunny’s vibe — social, spirited, and open to experiences beyond a typical brunch.”
Sunny’s is certainly not your typical brunch. The popular eatery made its debut at Boerne’s 518 River Rd. last summer. The restaurant has quickly become a community favorite.
Going above and beyond the call of what’s expected at “typical brunch” spots, Sunny’s offers the classics like pancakes, but with a Sunny twist. Customers can add one of their signature sweet and savory crepes. The restaurant also pays homage to its home through several dishes infused with The Lone Star State’s iconic Tex-Mex influence. Dishes like The Brunch Cowboy crepe and the Birria Benny reign supreme.
As the sun goes down, Sunny’s remains bright for the folks out at night looking for good eats. The “Dinner Club” includes Seared Salom, Citrus Chicken, and more. Can you say yum?
But, the Sunny’s that’s anticipated to open at The Rim this spring will be slightly different that it’s original sibling.
“This isn’t just another location — it’s a next-chapter evolution of Sunny’s,” Zogaj said.
“While we’re staying rooted in the beloved Sunny’s classics, this location introduces a more elevated culinary and beverage experience. Expect refined brunch favorites with chef-driven touches plus a thoughtfully crafted cocktail program that brings energy from morning into evening. Think elevated spins on favorites, elevated presentation, and a bar program built to impress.”
With an elevated brunch experience set to impress, Sunny’s is planning to offer an unmatched experience.
“We’re bringing more sophistication, a heightened guest experience, and a social atmosphere that reflects both where we started and where we want to go,” Zogaj said.
“We’re honored to take over this iconic space and build on The Rim’s vibrant dining scene.”
Sunny’s will be in good company at The Rim. The home-grown brunch spot will open near Hopdoddy Burger, North Italia, Salsita, and more.
With the imprint the growing small chain has already made on the Greater San Antonio community, Sunny’s can be expected to be an exceptional experience worth not missing.
“We want this to become a go-to place — whether that’s for a weekday catch-up over artful coffee, a celebratory brunch with friends, or an elevated cocktail with dinner vibes,” Zogaj said.
“We see Sunny’s as a community hub where people gather, celebrate, and make memories throughout the day and into the evening.”
Sunny’s is slated to open in The Rim at 17623 La Cantera Parkway, UNIT 107, this Spring.
