A trio of DC hospitality veterans are preparing to usher in the District’s next great Chinese dining experience. Brian Schram, Chef Timothy Yu, and sommelier Brent Kroll have joined forces to open Canton Disco, an exciting new concept that will transition from daytime cafe to nighttime full-service restaurant, reports Eater Washington DC.

The Navy Yard restaurant promises to be one of the hottest openings of the year. Canton Disco will be serving guests in the 1025 1st Street SE storefront that previously housed Pho Junkies. The eatery will be introducing DMV foodies to its “Hong Kong style cuisine” at some point mid-February, though a precise opening date is not yet announced.

Canton Disco will transport customers to 1970’s Hong Kong, with vivid decor elements chosen to evoke that era and place. Chef Timothy Yu’s menu will feature chile wontons, salt and pepper wings, and branzino flecked with Fresno peppers. Kroll’s drink program will allow guests to wash down their meals with a curated wine list and cocktails.

Future regulars eager for news can follow Canton Disco’s Instagram account to keep up to date on all the restaurant’s developments.
