Gumba Pasta Parlor, the food cart turned Italian restaurant, seems to be moving down the road to the Alberta Arts District, according to a liquor license application. Gumba’s new space is located on 2203 NE Alberta St., which formerly housed Bonne Chance, a wine bar that held its last service on Feb. 14.
Gumba started as a food cart in 2016, founded by best friends and Silverton natives Robin Brassaw and Jesse Martinez. The pair served handmade pasta, earning the duo The Oregonian’s Cart of the Year award in 2017. Gumba moved into a brick-and-mortar location in 2020 in the Alberta Arts District, serving a curated selection of appetizers, pastas, entrees and desserts. The Gumba team recently announced on Instagram that the restaurant be on a break.
Details on Gumba’s new location are sparse, including an opening date. What Now Portland has reached out to Gumba for more information.
