The long awaited Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop in Gowanus is approaching its opening, according to a liquor license filed with Brooklyn Community Board Six. Eater New York first reported that Paulie Gee’s was moving into the former Ample Hills Creamery on 305 Nevins Street in September 2024.
The pizzeria’s latest location will be managed by Logan and Kyle Driscoll, brothers and former employees of Paulie Gee’s. The restaurant will occupy two stories, with a full bar, dining room and rooftop deck.
In 2010, founder Paul Giannone opened the Paulie Gee’s in Greenpoint. In the years since its opening, Giannone has expanded the business, serving slices to diners in Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Columbus. You can even get a Paulie Gee’s slice at Madison Square Garden in sections 117 and 224. Most recently, Paulie Gee’s announced its original location on 60 Greenpoint Ave. is rebranding, changing from a restaurant into a bar, with a name change to boot. The rebranded location will open its doors in the beginning of March.
Opening at the new Paulie Gee’s in Gowanus hinges on a gas meter installation. The restaurant is hoping for a spring opening.
