Longmont is set to get its first Firehouse Subs, according to a food plan review filed with the City of Boulder. The sandwich shop chain is set to open on 15 Ken Pratt Blvd., in the Harvest Junction shopping plaza. The upcoming Firehouse Subs, owned by Scott Highland, is the first in Longmont.
Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Fla. by Chris and Robin Sorensen, brothers and former firefighters. The fast-casual restaurant specializes in hot sub sandwiches like its Firehouse Steak and Cheese or its meatball sub.
The chain is now owned by Restaurant Brands International, which bought Firehouse Subs in 2021. The group also own Popeyes, Burger King and Tim Hortons. Over nearly three decades, Firehouse Subs has spread across the country with over 1,200 locations as of 2025, growing at a “controlled burn,” according to its website The fast-casual chain has also opened in Canada, Mexico, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates, headed to Australia and Brazil.
The upcoming Firehouse Subs does not have an opening date as of yet.
