Eggslut, a U.S.-based, chef-driven breakfast chain known for egg-centric sandwiches and breakfast dishes, is set to open its first Canadian locations in Toronto at 545 King Street West and 10 Dundas Street East at The Tenor.
The expansion is being led by Westrich Hospitality Inc., a subsidiary of national development firm Westrich Pacific Corp., which holds the exclusive Canadian development rights for the brand, according to Retail Insider. The King Street site will take over the former Porchetta & Co. space, and the Dundas Street location will replace the former Wine Rack. Both Toronto locations are expected to open in spring and early summer 2026. A Vancouver location is planned to open later in summer 2026 as part of Westrich Hospitality’s curated rollout of strategic urban sites.
Founded in 2011 by chef Alvin Cailan in Los Angeles, Eggslut began as a food truck before moving into a permanent stall at Grand Central Market. The brand has expanded internationally with locations in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia, building a reputation for high-quality, Instagram-friendly breakfast offerings. The Toronto openings mark the chain’s first entry into Canada and start a curated expansion strategy across major urban markets.
The Canadian menu will mirror the U.S. offerings, featuring sandwiches like the “Slut” coddled egg over potato purée, bacon, egg & cheese, Fairfax, and specialty items like truffle hashbrowns and French toast sticks. All ingredients are high-quality, including organic eggs, free-run chicken, locally sourced bacon, and fresh brioche. The concept is a premium grab-and-go breakfast experience rather than a full-service brunch.
Eggslut has developed a cult following and media recognition for its creative, egg-forward menu and chef-driven approach. The Toronto locations are positioned to attract younger urban consumers seeking convenient, high-quality breakfast options, while also establishing the brand’s presence in key Canadian urban corridors.
