Financial pressures are being felt across the country’s healthcare system, particularly dentistry services, as Navajo Smiles LLC files for bankruptcy. The company, which operates a dental clinic under the name Pleasant Dental Care, is among regional providers facing rising liabilities.

Navajo Smiles LLC Seeks Bankruptcy Protection

The dental clinic led by CEO Dr. Chad Lyons submitted a Chapter 11 petition on March 6, 2026. Additional details on PACER state that Navajo Smiles LLC was categorized as a “small business debtor” and that it made the filing under Subchapter V at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona.

Attorney Thomas H. Allen of Allen, Jones & Giles, PLC represents the Peoria-based dental clinic in its bankruptcy proceedings.

Company Background

Pleasant Dental Care provides a variety of general and preventive dental services to patients in Peoria. The clinic’s website, the dental clinic offers routine cleanings, teeth whitening, clear orthodontic aligners, dental implants, crowns, and more treatments.

Led by Dr. Chad Lyons, the clinic uses modern dental technology in a patient-friendly environment. The Peoria clinic’s team, comprising dental assistants and hygienists, ensures preventive care during the different treatment solutions.

Court filings mention that the dental clinic submitted a motion to approve the use of cash collateral.

Navajo Smiles LLC has to submit several documents before March 20, including a statement of financial affairs and attorney disclosure statement. The dental business must file Schedules A/B to J by the same date, case records say.

On April 14, the Peoria business’ creditors will have a meeting after which they can file the proof of claims. The deadline for filing these claims in May 15.

Other than this, Navajo Smiles LLC’s Chapter 11 plan for small business is to be filed by June 4.

Previous Dental Bankruptcies

Several healthcare services, particularly those with a dental background, have opted for bankruptcy protection in the past months.

Highlighting financial troubles, Bella Family Dental, Inc., had submitted a Chapter 11 filing. As per the petition filed on February 18, the Doral, Florida-based dental facility’s creditors must file their claim forms by April 29. The business also provides general and cosmetic dentistry-related services at Pembroke Pines.

Two months before this, a Cortland, Ohio-based medical and health product manufacturer had filed for bankruptcy as a small business debtor. Maxill, Inc.’s decision was aimed to reorganize business as assets and liabilities were varying by large difference. The company offers oral hygiene and other dental products in Ohio.

These recurrent filings are examples of financial challenges facing some dental businesses amid economic hindrances. Proceedings in the coming months may determine if Navajo Smiles LLC can get back its financial footing.
