Tampa Bay Business & Wealth reported at the end of last year that Pendry Hotels & Resorts is collaborating with Vegas-based hospitality group Clique Hospitality for its Pendry Tampa hotel and residences project. The collaboration includes several “restaurants, bars and social venues that will help raise the energy along the Riverwalk.”

“We look forward to adding a vibrant culinary experience to the Riverwalk with Clique Hospitality as our partner,” Pendry co-founder Michael Fuerstman said in the TBBW coverage. “We are creating restaurant and bar experiences that feel distinctly of the destination while delivering the modern, design-driven point of view and warm, gracious service that define Pendry.”

Details on the restaurants have thus far been scarce. The project is known to include both “a signature restaurant with elevated dining and a lively social atmosphere” and a “modern” Mexican restaurant featuring “expressive design, a speakeasy-style lounge and a poolside venue.”

This week, however, What Now came across submitted plan review documents that may cast some light on what’s coming to Pendry Tampa. Documents submitted show a new restaurant called Amaya Mexican Restaurant, opening at the Pendry address, 103 S Ashley Dr.

As it happens, Clique Hospitality already has Amaya Modern Mexican, a restaurant located at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, in its portforlio. It’s a “spirited dining destination is where bold flavor, soulful tradition, and high design come together to create something unforgettable.”

“The menu is a love letter to the regions that inspired it, spotlighting fresh seafood, smoky grilled meats, vibrant salsas, and bright, citrusy flavors that transport you straight to the coast,” says the Clique Hospitality website. “Crafted with sustainable ingredients and modern technique, each dish balances authenticity with innovation. And the cocktails? Think handcrafted, agave-forward creations that pair perfectly with every bite.”

A representative of Clique Hospitality declined to make any immediate comment on plans for a sister Amaya location opening in Tampa.
