Travelers flying Southwest Airlines through Orlando International Airport will soon have a new favorite place to refuel and recharge when Zaza Bar opens at Southwest’s Terminal (A), at 9202 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard.
This is the first Zaza Bar, but the name is a familiar one. The bar is an offshoot of Zaza Cuban Comfort Food, a beloved name in Orlando since the first restaurant opened in 2015. The menu is inspired by co-founder Ruben Perez’s family and their long history in the hospitality industry, which began in Cuban with his grandfather, Don Pepe. The restaurant mission is to serve “familia tradition”, by providing authentic Cuban comfort food using generations-old recipes and methods.
Perez tells What Now Orlando that the permitting has been filed, and he’s hoping to start serving travelers by June or July of this year. Clearly looking forward to this new endeavor, Perez shares that the bar will offer a full bar, along with Cuban favorites, adding, “The mojito the merrier.”
Zaza Cuban Comfort Food has locations throughout Central Florida including in Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, and the flagship at Orlando International Airport. The restaurant is in a growth mode, with plans for additional locations, including SODO, in the coming months.
