At the end of 2020, deep in the COVID-19 pandemic period that rocked restaurant communities all over the world, one casualty was the Hall on Franklin. It opened, as Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reported in November 2020, in 2017 at 1701 N Franklin St in Tampa Heights. When it closed its doors temporarily in March of that year, it turned out to be a permanent move.

Years have passed, however, and now the space as 1701 N Franklin is preparing to move into its next phase. A new project is expected to launch this summer, says coverage by Tampa Bay Business & Wealth, that will bring to building not only upcoming sports bar Hail Mary Social Club, but two additional concepts: Uno Mas Taqueria and Boogie Heights.

Details began to get out at the end of last year, and both Uno Mas Taqueria and Boogie Heights now have live Instagram profiles.

The Uno Mas Taqueria profile describes the restaurant as offering “A little more flavor, a lot more soul—One more sip, one more bite, one more reason to stay.”

“A Mexico City–style taqueria led by Chef David Reyes, featuring two specialty taco menus — one honoring tradition and another pushing culinary boundaries,” added an Instagram post by Tampa Bay Is Awesome. “Hidden behind the taqueria, guests will discover the Cantina and Chapel, two speakeasy spaces designed for tequila and mezcal and elevated late-night experiences.”

Boogie Heights, meanwhile, will be a place “Where the rhythm rises & the night comes alive!” its Instagram profile says. “A nostalgic escape into the sounds and style of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.”

“Tampa… the city has been yearning for something different to do at night – so we decided to bring the dance floor back,” said an Instagram post published by Dor Haim, one of the partners in the project. “This is a breath of fresh air for Tampa Bay nightlife. A place built for people who want to move, connect, and feel something again.”

According to Joshua Pardue, another partner, the building is expected to expected to open in the next 60 to 90 days.
