A local of Jackson who owns a pop-up business selling merchandise is bringing a reading and drink option to the southern Michigan city.

Owner Samantha Horner is getting ready to debut her new book shop in Jackson later this year. She currently operates her pop-up at 218 W Wilkins Street, just south of downtown. This will be a bookstore with drinks on the side, hosting various events, and she has not yet announced an opening date.

“We specialize in fantasy, romance and BookTok books and will offer seating, drinks, book clubs and community events,” says the description on their Facebook page.

The many books can be accompanied by some of the drinks served including dirty sodas, energy drinks, iced coffees and lattes. There is no mention of food or pastries served as well. Horner is still working on the menu to be released.

Horner is teasing the project on social media, with an initial announcement on March 22 explaining her business. Conceptual pictures have also been posted, showcasing bookshelves around the store, as well as a common area with couches and a coffee table. The bar serving drinks is in the back.

While debuting the shop, Horner will continue to sell tumblers, shirts and other merchandise on the side. She is currently running a fundraiser for her business that can be found at preview.honeycomb.com. What Now Detroit has reached out and is awaiting comment on the opening.
