A bakery with a major presence in the state is continuing expansion this year.
Tous Les Jours is debuting their newest West Michigan location at 5721 S Westnedge Avenue soon. Owner and franchisee Heymanshudeep Singh told What Now Detroit he is hoping to soft open the cafe on April 30. If all goes well with this location, he aims to open an additional cafe on the west side of the state.
Singh signed the lease in June of last year and started construction on the space in October. This is the first location he owns, and he has a software engineering background.
“Whether it’s your morning ritual or a sweet celebration, we are here to make your day a little brighter,” says a recent post from Tous Les Jours Portage’s Instagram page.
Many who stop at the bakery go in for either a sweet treat, coffee or refresher. A few baked goods include baguettes, chocolate-dipped Belgian waffles, custard buns and honey cheese mochi pancakes. Locations also have many pastries, sandwiches, and cake flavors as options.
The bakery and cafe will be on the east side of S Westnedge Avenue, next to AiCHEF Express Japanese restaurant. A Tim Hortons drive-thru location is just north of the store. Other restaurants in this area include Red Robin, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Bob Evans.
Singh said construction is done, and now the team is going through the hiring process. Updates on the Portage opening date can be found on the business’s Instagram @tlj_portage.
