An Italian sandwich shop is set to open soon in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood.

Panino, owned by Jesmeet Johal, will debut on the ground floor of the Tellus Apartment Complex at 403 Dexter Ave. N, Suite B, according to business filings.

The new eatery will sit next to sister shop Cannolo, which specializes in cannolis, cheesecakes, gelato, shakes and coffee.

“Cannolo will always be home for our desserts, but Panino is where we’ll be bringing the savory side of Italy to the neighborhood. Opening spring 2026,” an Instagram post read.

With the tagline “a simple pleasure,” the shop draws inspiration from the Italian tradition of simple, high-quality sandwiches made with imported ingredients.

The sandwich lineup includes Parma, Capocollo, Miele, Caprese, Verdura, Spicy Tacchino, Porchetta, Mortadella, Tacchino, Meatball and Salumi.

Wine, spritzes and Italian beers will be served alongside the paninis. The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board recently approved Panino’s liquor license.

An official opening date has not yet been announced; however, Panino said it will open “in the next couple of weeks,” following a soft opening.

Once open, Panino will operate Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Visit the Panino website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
