JK Boots is preparing to open its newest retail location at 17275 Southcenter Pkwy., Suite 100, in Tukwila, according to the company’s website.
Co-owner Tim Khadzhi told What Now Seattle that the company is finishing the store buildout. An opening date has not been announced.
The Tukwila store will carry work boots, wildland fire boots, western boots, and heritage styles for everyday wear. Customers can try on different sizes and get help from staff with sizing and fit. The store will also stock boots that customers can buy without placing a custom order.
JK Boots is a family-owned company that makes its boots in the Pacific Northwest using American materials. The company’s history traces back to founder John “JK” Khadzhi, who began learning the trade as a teenage cobbler’s apprentice in Ukraine.
Khadzhi moved to the United States in 1994 and later started JK Boots. He raised his sons in Eastern Washington and taught them how to make boots. The family still works together as bootmakers and business owners.
