Simply Seattle is preparing for a longer-term stay at University Village, with a new permanent store expected to open in mid-2027.
Simply Seattle announced the move on its website and social media. The current U Village shop, which was always intended to be temporary, will close after September 7.
“Thanks to the incredible support of our customers, Simply Seattle has secured and is moving to a permanent home in U Village,” Jamie Munson, owner and CEO of Simply Seattle, said in a statement. “We’re building this one to last, which means it’s going to take a little time to reopen.”
The company has not yet shared the exact location of the new storefront within U Village or a more specific opening date.
Simply Seattle specializes in Seattle sports apparel, local team merchandise, souvenirs, and throwback gear. Its selection includes licensed products tied to the Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken, UW Huskies, and other local teams, along with Seattle SuperSonics merchandise.
The company has served Seattle for more than 30 years and will continue operating its other stores while the U Village location is closed. Customers can shop at its Downtown and Pier 54 locations, order online, or arrange pickup at the company’s warehouse near U Village.
