Hairy Tales is preparing to open at Bellis Fair, located at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway, Suite 706, in Bellingham, according to the Cascadia Daily News. Owner Laetitia Assink told What Now Seattle that she hopes to welcome the first customers on October 7.

The salon will serve children ages 0 to 12. Its fairy-tale theme is intended to make appointments less intimidating for young customers, including those visiting a salon for the first time.

Haircuts will start at $26, with hair washing and styling available for an additional charge.

Assink also plans to add a low-sensory room for children who may feel overwhelmed by the sounds, lighting, or other parts of a salon visit. Children on the autism spectrum will be welcome at Hairy Tales.

The salon will be located next to Ruckus Room inside Bellis Fair. Hairy Tales is also offering booth rentals to licensed cosmetologists who specialize in working with children. The advertised monthly rate is $700.
