Croissants, champagne and coffee are coming to Kirkland in a chic, cafe-style pairing.
Le Croissant Bar, owned by Monica Kuchman, is set to open at 116 Lake St. in the former Starbucks space, according to business filings.
Kuchman describes her journey as “a dream kneaded with faith, community and the joy of creating beauty with food.”
She launched BraveHeart Mountain Coffee in 2020 to support wounded veterans, quickly gaining traction after selling pallets of roasted beans at a regional Veterans Day event at Costco.
That early success led her into baking croissants, which she sold at farmers markets and trade shows across the Pacific Northwest. She is now opening a brick-and-mortar shop to showcase and expand the pastry concept.
A nod to its name, Le Croissant Bar will serve a selection of croissants, including classic almond, strawberry vanilla, peach cream cheese and blueberry lemon curd. Kuchman uses fresh strawberries from a Skagit Valley farm, a full-circle moment after she first worked there as a teen picking strawberries, the website reads.
The menu is also designed to satisfy both sweet and savory cravings, featuring items such as tiramisu affogato, mango pineapple cheesecake, banana pudding and the “Miss Figgy Piggy,” made with fig jam, prosciutto, pears and creamy brie.
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board recently approved Le Croissant Bar’s liquor license, business filings report. The eatery plans to offer beer, wine and champagne pairings with its dishes on Friday and Saturday nights.
“Whether you’re strolling with your pup, treating the kids, or simply seeking a moment of peace, we’re here to make your day a little more beautiful. Every bite is a blessing. Every visit, a celebration of GRATITUDE,” the website reads.
An official opening date has not yet been announced; check the website for the latest updates.
