The incredible, edible egg is deepening its stranglehold on the DFW dining scene. Urban Egg, a community-focused daytime eatery, has filed papers to open a new location in Mansfield, and work could begin as soon as this summer.
The restaurant will be flipping its pancakes and frying its bacon in a renovated 2201 E Broad Street storefront. The paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation pertaining to Urban Egg’s Mansfield location states that the eatery will ultimately span 4,257 square feet.
Dates included on TDLR paperwork are always best-case estimates. With that in mind, the forms state that work is projected to begin on July 7 of this year and to wrap by January 4 of 2027. This could be a positive indicator that Urban Egg will open later this year or early next.
Urban Egg has been helping diners greet the day since 2012. While the chain may have been born in Colorado, it has spread to include storefronts in Missouri, Kansas, and Texas. The concept is no stranger to the DFW; it is currently feeding diners in Plano and Fort Worth.
Fueled by delicious breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, it’s no surprise that Urban Egg has made such a powerful impact. The restaurant has an ethos certain to keep customers coming back- ”We’re all about the power of positivity and the fresh start each new day brings. Every “good morning” isn’t just a welcoming – it’s the start of something bigger. Set the tone for the kind of day you want. to have. Our goal is to brighten your day!”
