A popular Folsom entertainment hub is gearing up for a major transformation.
FLB Entertainment Center, located at 511 East Bidwell St, has filed an application with the city outlining plans to expand and modernize its already sprawling facility, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
The proposed project would introduce a new arcade, an upgraded restaurant kitchen, and a large outdoor entertainment area designed to bring fresh energy to the decades-old destination.
According to application materials, the goal is to “revitalize an aging recreational facility and transform it into a vibrant, family-oriented entertainment destination that better serves the community.”
Plans, designed by Sutton & Associates Inc., call for an expansion of the existing 88,862-square-foot building, with much of the new space dedicated to a relocated and enlarged arcade on the building’s northeast side. Outside, a new recreation area with a covered patio would take shape along the eastern edge of the property.
That outdoor space is expected to play a central role in the reimagined concept. Current plans include a bar and dining area beneath the patio, alongside a children’s playground, interactive games, and an elevated stage for live performances and community events.
Wally and Sue Dreher purchased the 1961 building in 1979, and today, their children carry on the family business as the second generation operating FLB Entertainment Center. The Drehers have maintained strong ties to the Folsom community over the years, regularly supporting local schools, churches, and fundraisers.
FLB already offers a wide range of attractions, including bowling lanes, arcade games, and event spaces. Its sports bar, which was remodeled in 2022, features 20 beers on tap, pool tables, dart boards, and wall-to-wall TVs, while the adjoining grill serves up casual staples like burgers, pizza, wings, sandwiches, and tacos.
