Tacos Frontera to Bring Authentic Tijuana Style Taqueria to Pasadena

Tacos Frontera is embarking on opening a third location.

Tacos Frontera has taken the Greater Houston region by storm with its authentic Tijuana-style taquerias. The Houston-born brand is now embarking on opening a third location. According to a recently filed permit, Tacos Frontera is slated to open next in Pasadena in the Spencer Square shopping center at 2536 Spencer Hwy.

The permit details that construction is expected to start this summer in July and wrap up by September. If all goes well, Pasadena residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the new taqueria by fall.

Though this is the third opening, the brand has already begun to franchise and outsource operations. At the helm of the new Tacos Frontera is Alfresd ClemeshaWhat Now Houston briefly spoke with Clemesha. Clemsha excitedly confirmed the opening and timeline, but was unable to share further details by the time of this publication.

Tacos Frontera, identified as Houston’s first authentic Tijuana-style taqueria, was founded by Erik Leal and his wife, Maribel, in 2023. The two opened a second location in Katy in 2025. The brand has continued to blossom ever since.

“Thanks, everyone, for the support of our family-owned business. We were happy to celebrate our first anniversary with you. 🎉,” the brand’s social media page reads.

“Visit us and enjoy the Tijuana Style here at Tacos Frontera.”

What Now Houston reached out to Leal, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
