“We plan to be the best smash burger in Tampa, so keep an eye out,” Ahmed Mansour, owner of the new smashburger restaurant Byte, told What Now back in January.

At the time, news was breaking about the brand’s debut in Temple Terrace, which has since come off successfully: Byte is now open at 10935 N 56th St.

Now, according to recently published coverage by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the brand is making good on Mansour’s statement from January: keep an eye out. The restaurant is already at work on its second location, which is expected to open in the Westshore business district.

“We’re not here to reinvent burgers. We’re here to make them hit differently,” says the Byte website. “Byte is where the cravings bring you in, and the energy makes you stay. No frills. Just fire. Fast hands, and a space that feels like your kind of place.”

The streamlined menu features four different burgers, like the House Burger, the Truffle Burger, and the Falafel Burger, which are served with sides like Fries, Nuggets, and Onion Straws.

The specific address of the Westshore location has not yet been revealed.
