Cafe Panchita, a Latin-inspired cafe known for its all-day breakfast and sourdough offerings, is getting ready to open a new location in Oakville at 94 George Street.
The company’s new location follows the closure of its Port Credit cafe at 152 Lakeshore Road East after four years in business. Owner Humberto Sanchez tells What Now Toronto in an email that the team is aiming to open in the second week of May, depending on final preparations.
Cafe Panchita built its reputation in Mississauga by focusing on fresh, made-to-order breakfast and brunch dishes served throughout the day. The concept centers around a mix of European and Latin influences, paired with house-made sourdough. Its Port Credit location became a familiar stop for coffee and casual dining before its recent closure.
Chef Humberto Sanchez brings more than 20 years of experience in international kitchens, with time spent working in Spain, Italy, France, Peru, and the United States. In Toronto, he has also been involved in multiple concepts, including Bar Catalina and catering projects focused on South American cuisine. The Oakville opening marks the next step for the brand following its time in Port Credit.
Menu offerings at Cafe Panchita focus heavily on all-day breakfast, including dishes like huevos a la flamenca, huevos verdes shakshuka, and huevos rotos. Other items include sourdough-based options such as tostadas, egg benedicts, and sandwiches, along with empanadas and omelets. The cafe also offers sweet options like brioche French toast and pastries.
This will be an excellent landing space for Cafe Panchita, considering Oakville’s steady foot traffic and established dining scene. Sanchez adds that the team is looking forward to introducing its flavors to a new audience, noting they are excited to bring Panchita’s food and sourdough to the community.
