The countdown until the reopening of a beloved Jonesboro restaurant is officially on. Gina’s Place will be ready to greet and feed hungry customers in its new home next month.

Gina’s Place is bringing new life to the former McAlister’s Deli building located at 2400 S Caraway Road. Jonesboro diners have been eagerly anticipating the restaurant’s return ever since its abrupt closure in December of last year. Now at last fans have a date they can circle on their calendars-June 1.

Gina’s Place broke the news of the upcoming opening date via social media post, saying: “Good morning my precious friends.  I met with the owner of the new building last week and with everything going on we have decided our reopening day will be June 1, 2026. That is if nothing else goes wrong, keeping my fingers crossed! “

Owner Regina McKay further states in the post that she will be hiring additional staff for the new location, with plans to hold interviews the third week of May. Interested parties can follow Gina’s Place’s Facebook page for additional information.

A multitude of ecstatic comments below the post prove both how missed Gina’s Place has been and how welcome its return will be. The community is clearly excited-nearly as excited as the Gina’s Place team. McKay states: “I am looking forward to welcoming you all to our new place, it’s going to be amazing!!”
