A lifestyle apparel company is expanding across the greater Philadelphia area.
Faherty Brand, founded by twin brothers Mike and Alex Faherty and Alex’s wife, Kerry Docherty, will open a new store on the upper level of King of Prussia Mall between Lilly Pulitzer and Lucky Brand Jeans.
The brand is known for its relaxed coastal style, soft fabrics and sustainably focused approach to fashion. Its collections include casual apparel for men and women, such as flannels, knit shirts, denim, dresses, outerwear and swimwear.
The company emphasizes comfort, quality craftsmanship and environmentally conscious materials, including organic cotton, recycled fabrics and linen. Faherty has also gained popularity for its “Legend Sweater Shirt,” a soft flannel-style top that became one of the brand’s signature items.
The brothers pursued separate career paths prior to launching the clothing brand, Faherty Brand’s website reads.
Mike studied fashion design at Washington University in St. Louis before joining Ralph Lauren, while Alex attended Yale University and built a career in finance and private equity. Mike left Ralph Lauren in 2012 to develop the brand, and Alex joined him the following year.
The brothers launched Faherty Brand in 2013 from Puerto Rico, selling swimwear made from recycled plastic bottles through their website and a mobile pop-up shop traveling along the Pacific Coast Highway.
The company quickly expanded, launching its first full collection in 2014 with retail partnerships including Nordstrom before opening its first store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood in 2015.
Today, Faherty Brand operates 80 stores nationwide.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, however, the mall’s website reads: “Coming soon.”
