A new all-day cafe is set to open soon in Charleston.

The Larrikin, the latest concept from chef Michael Toscano, will open at 157 Market Street, according to Cooter Soup.

The chef currently operates Le Farfalle, Da Toscano Porchetta Shop, Fugazzi and Blanca Estrada in Charleston, along with Da Toscano in New York. The new concept will expand his growing portfolio.

The cafe will have a coffee-focused menu, with beans sourced from Black & White Coffee Roasters in Wake Forest, North Carolina; Methodical Coffee in Greenville, South Carolina; and Proud Mary Coffee in Australia.

Rather than a traditional coffee program, the menu will feature espresso-based drinks served in 4, 6 and 10-ounce sizes with milk. Double shots and long blacks made by adding three ounces of water to a double shot will also be available. Chef Toscano told the writer the cafe will offer “funky” iced drinks highlighting the different flavor profiles of coffee.

Guests can enjoy beer, wine and spirits as well.

The all-day cafe would not be complete without food. The menu will feature “hearty but healthy” options, including grain bowls with seasonal vegetables and lean proteins, along with sauces such as garlic, chimichurri and buffalo.

An official opening date has not yet been announced; however, once open, The Larrikin will operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
