Austin is getting its first-of-its-kind indoor play destination. Rollie Pollies, a sprawling, screen-free play space designed for children from newborns through age 10, is set to open its doors Summer 2026 at 3822 Airport Boulevard in the heart of the Cherrywood/Mueller neighborhood. Spanning more than 9,000 square feet, the facility offers something Austin has never had before: a thoughtfully designed, developmentally intentional environment where every child and every caregiver belongs.
From dedicated tummy time nooks for newborns to imaginative make-believe worlds for toddlers, structured dance and gymnastics studios for growing kids, and a sensory-friendly retreat for children who need a quieter moment, Rollie Pollies offers spaces and programming built to serve the full spectrum of early childhood. The space grows with its guests – a two-year-old can lose themself in pretend play and gardening while an older sibling scales the big kids’ play structure just steps away. Anchoring it all is a coffee bar (with kid-friendly snacks and drinks!) in the entryway, because parents deserve something great, too. The colorful murals throughout the space are the work of Austin artist, Chris Rogers, giving every corner of the facility a vibrant, locally rooted soul.
Rollie Pollies is the brainchild of Austin-based entrepreneur and mother Brittany McCusker, who spent years traveling with her young family and found herself in city after city searching for a play space that was truly safe and stimulating. She couldn’t find one that matched her vision, so she built it herself. After relocating to Austin more than two years ago and driving past a building on Airport Boulevard every single day, McCusker knew she’d found her home.
“I wanted a place where kids can get up and move, be intellectually and physically engaged, and just be kids,” said McCusker in a statement. “But I also wanted it to be a space where families feel seen and supported. A place where a mom can bring her newborn for tummy time, her toddler for imaginative play, and her older child for gymnastics and feel like this community was built for her.”
With a background in dance and gymnastics and a fierce belief in the power of community, McCusker built Rollie Pollies as a mother-run space from the ground up. Her Director of Operations and lead manager are both moms, and that perspective is woven into everything. From the sensory-friendly “Snail Room” designed for neurodivergent children or those prone to overstimulation, to planned community programming on topics like breastfeeding, postpartum wellness, sleep training, and potty training McCusker looks forward to welcoming children and families of all backgrounds and abilities this summer. Day passes and memberships will be available at launch and the facility will open its doors to school field trips and birthday party bookings later this Fall.
Ahead of its opening, Rollie Pollies is actively hiring passionate, community-oriented team members across all positions including Baristas, Customer Experience Attendants, Dance Instructors, Gymnastics Instructors and more.
