Mad Hippie is Opening Its First Store in Austin

Austin is soon to welcome Mad Hippie’s first flagship store, offering an experiential retail concept. The store will open on May 28, 2026, on South Lamar Boulevard. It will focus on skincare, sustainability, and community experience.
The brand was founded in 2009 by husband-and-wife duo Sam and Dana Stewart. Mad Hippie is known for clean skincare products that are made with effective ingredients. It is especially popular for its Vitamin C Serum.
Mad Hippie’s products are sold in over 5,000 stores nationwide, including Whole Foods Market and Ulta Beauty. With the opening of this flagship store, the brand will be able to expand its refill program. This program offers refillable Vitamin C Serum containers to reduce waste.
Inside the New Store
Studio Luck designed the 3,600-square-foot space to create an experiential retail environment. The space includes a retail area, lounge spaces, a tea service, and a courtyard built around a 300-year-old live oak tree. Customers can test products, get skincare advice, enjoy mini facials, and learn skincare techniques from staff and estheticians.
The store also features products from local and small businesses, including handmade ceramics, textiles, and loungewear. Mad Hippie plans to host community events in this space. This includes skincare workshops, yoga sessions, wellness panels, flower markets, and meet-and-greets with founders and local creatives.
The store will open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Sundays, it will open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Mad Hippie is bringing its skincare philosophy directly to the community with this new opening. It also creates a space where customers can connect through events and shared experiences.
