Cafe Calavera LV is bringing a taste of Mexico to the Valley. The mobile cafe is slated to pop up throughout Nevada, primarily in Henderson, but is also available for private events. According to a recently filed permit, Cafe Calavera LV will operate out of the 4D Commissary Roadhouse at 2100 N Boulder Hwy.

“Cafe Calavera is more than a coffee trailer — it’s a space built around culture, connection, and community,” owner Candice Gonzales said in an interview with What Now Las Vegas.

“Our brand is inspired by my Mexican heritage, my abuela’s love for serving others, and the idea that coffee brings people together.”

Specializing in handcrafted coffee, refreshers, lemonades, matcha, and energy drinks inspired by flavors Gonzales grew up with, Cafe Calavera LV is colorful, community-focused, and designed to feel warm, inviting, and full of personality.

“Like me,” Gonzales said.

One of the biggest inspirations behind the brand was Gonzales’ Abuela.

“Growing up, she hosted Monday Bible studies, fed the ice cream man, welcomed neighbors into her home, and always cared deeply for the people around her. Everything centered around conversation, coffee, food, and making people feel loved. I wanted to bring that same feeling into my own community and continue her legacy of bringing people together,” Gonzales said.

“My grandmother passed away in June 2025, and she truly believed in me and my dreams before I even fully believed in myself. She taught me that loving your community means serving them. Opening Cafe Calavera became my way of honoring her memory while creating meaningful connections with the people around me. Through coffee and handcrafted drinks, I hope to create moments of comfort, conversation, and community.”

A big part of her community is Henderson. Close to home, Henderson felt natural for the owner to serve her beloved traditions and delicious drinks.

Some of the brand’s most popular drinks include the Horchata Latte, Café de Olla Latte, and Horchata Matcha. Many of the flavors — including horchata, café de olla, mazapán, and piloncillo — are house-made recipes inspired by flavors and traditions Gonzalez grew up with.

While there are hopes to expand in the future, the plan right now is to serve Henderson and the greater community with tenacity and gratitude.

“I hope Cafe Calavera becomes more than just a place to grab coffee. I want it to feel like a space where people feel welcomed, seen, and connected,” Gonzales said.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this journey, and I’m excited to continue growing and serving the Henderson and Las Vegas communities. I truly believe this is only the beginning of the beautiful adventure I’ve prayed for for so long.”

Gonzales plans to start working with local communities, nonprofits, small businesses, and other vendors to help support and bring people together through meaningful events and connections.

Cafe Calavera LV is anticipated to pop up throughout the Valley, primarily in Henderson, this spring, and will operate out of the 4D Commissary Roadhouse at 2100 N Boulder Hwy.
