A former Valero gas station in Morgan Hill will be replaced, as Chevron and ExtraMile prepare to take over the property at 17905 Monterey Rd., according to a liquor license filing with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Ninga Singireddy owns Morgan Hill Gas & Auto Service and confirmed to What Now Media Group that the project is currently awaiting final city approvals before redevelopment work can move forward. Once approvals are completed, the team plans to hire contractors and begin construction.
“If everything goes well, maybe September or October,” Singireddy said regarding the anticipated opening timeline. “Otherwise, end of the year.”
The site will transition from a Valero-branded station into a Chevron gas station featuring an ExtraMile convenience store franchise. The location will no longer include auto mechanic services.
According to Singireddy, the new convenience store will offer snacks, soda, hot food, propane, beer, and wine sales through an ABC license, along with gas and diesel fuel services. The store will not sell liquor.
Singireddy shared that the approval process has taken longer than expected, adding that he is eagerly waiting for the project to move ahead.
Once completed, the redevelopment is expected to bring a refreshed fueling and convenience destination to the Morgan Hill community.
