Boot Barn is planning a new Roseville location at 318 N. Sunrise Avenue, where the western wear and work apparel retailer is expected to replace the current Pet Club store in a 24,766-square-foot space, according to building permit information reported by the Sacramento Business Journal.
The store would bring another Boot Barn to the Sacramento region as the Irvine-based chain continues expanding its national footprint. Boot Barn is led by CEO John Hazen, who was appointed to the role in May 2025.
The Roseville space is currently occupied by Pet Club, a family-owned pet food and supplies retailer. According to the Business Journal, a manager at the Roseville Pet Club confirmed that the store will close, though staff did not know the exact date. A WARN notice posted by the California Employment Development Department stated that six Pet Club employees would be laid off effective July 18.
The incoming Boot Barn will be one of roughly 70 California locations for the Irvine-based retailer, which trades on the NYSE under the ticker BOOT and operates hundreds of stores nationwide. The Sacramento region is already well-covered by the brand, with existing locations in Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Placerville, and Rocklin. The Roseville store would mark another step in the chain’s continued push into the Northern California market, following a location it opened last August in Arden-Arcade, where it replaced a former Party City at 1703 Arden Way in an 11,000-square-foot space.
