A trendy liquor-infused ice cream brand is headed to Boston.

Tipsy Scoop is preparing to open a new location at 59 Dartmouth St in the city’s South End, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. The upcoming “Barlour” will be operated by franchisee Kimberly Medina, who also oversees the brand’s Astoria, Queens location.

Medina told What Now Boston that her younger sister recently graduated from New England Law, giving her plenty of opportunities to visit the city over the years. During those visits—and by hosting corporate events throughout the area—Medina grew to believe Boston would be a great place for the company’s signature treats.

Founded in 2014 by Melissa Tavss, Tipsy Scoop has become known for its classic and contemporary cocktail-inspired ice creams and sorbets, each infused with real alcohol and containing up to 5% ABV.

At the Boston Barlour, visitors can expect signature Tipsy Scoop flavors such as the Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel, Cake Batter Vodka Martini, Mango Margarita Sorbet, Cookies & Cream Espresso Martini, Vanilla Bean Bourbon, Spiked Mint Chip, and Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet.

According to a company representative, the menu will also feature the brand’s viral boozy ice cream flights, sundaes, cocktails, and Boston-exclusive offerings that will be announced closer to opening.

While guests must be 21 years or older to enjoy the alcohol-infused flavors, Tipsy Scoop will also offer a variety of alcohol-free treats. Options will include mocktail-inspired flavors such as the Virgin Piña Colada, Salty Margarita Mocktail Sorbet, and Hazelnut Espress-no Martini, along with classic mocktails and “Cool Kids Sundaes” designed for younger guests.

Since launching in New York City more than a decade ago, Tipsy Scoop has expanded to several company-owned locations across New York City and Philadelphia, along with franchise locations in Washington, D.C., the Bahamas, Portland, Nashville, Pensacola, and Baltimore. Additional Barlours are currently in development, including sites in Dallas and Boston.

“Boston has been at the top of our expansion list since we first opened our doors in 2014,” said Tavss in a statement. “Over the years, we’ve loved partnering with local retailers to bring our boozy pints and ice cream carts to beloved Boston destinations. We’re incredibly excited to finally open our first Barlour in Boston — especially in such a vibrant, historic neighborhood surrounded by some of the city’s best food and drink experiences.”

Though the South End shop isn’t slated to open until the spring of 2027, the team has already started serving the city through catering services and special events featuring its signature boozy ice cream pushcarts. Tipsy Scoop pints can also be found at select Boston-area retailers.

Excited locals are encouraged to follow @bostonbarlour on Instagram for construction updates, opening announcements, and sneak peeks at what’s to come.
