Drift Coffee + Kitchen is preparing to open a new location at Raleigh Iron Works, according to the Triangle Business Journal. The company has leased 1,963 square feet in the development’s Bow Truss Building at 1101 East Whitaker Mill Road and plans to open later this year.
The café will mark the company’s fifth location in the Triangle. According to the publication, the new location will serve Drift’s full coffee shop menu in addition to breakfast and lunch offerings. Guests can expect a selection of espresso drinks, brewed coffee, breakfast sandwiches, bowls, toasts, salads, sandwiches, and other cafe fare.
The upcoming opening continues Drift’s expansion across the region. The Triangle Business Journal reports that the company signed a lease last fall at The Holston apartments near Dix Park and opened a location at Horseshoe at Hub RTP later in the year. Drift also operates locations in Chapel Hill and Raleigh, while maintaining a larger presence along the North Carolina coast.
According to Drift Coffee + Kitchen’s website, the company was founded by Michael and Ben Powell. The brand says its concept was shaped by the founders’ travels around the world, helping inspire its approach to coffee, food, and hospitality.”The character and history of the Bow Truss Building, combined with the energy already happening throughout the development, made this an incredibly exciting opportunity for our team,” Powell said in a release cited by The Triangle Business Journal.
