After spending nearly a year researching wellness concepts, Rachel Bettermann found one she believed could bring something different to Woodinville.
She is now preparing to open a franchise location of The Tox at Harvest, introducing the wellness brand’s signature body sculpting technique to the city’s growing mixed-use destination.
The upcoming business will be located at 14486 147th Pl. NE, Suite 624, within Building D at Harvest’s retail district. While construction on the space is expected to wrap up soon, an opening date has not yet been announced as tenants continue awaiting final timelines for the broader development.
The Tox Technique combines body sculpting and lymphatic-focused methods designed to encourage circulation, reduce water retention, support the body’s natural detoxification processes, and promote overall wellness.
“The Tox is a unique blend of different techniques that help your body to both sculpt and get rid of different toxins in your body. There’s specific strokes that we do to take the toxins up to your lymphatic system,” Rachel told What Now Seattle.
The concept resonated with Rachel on both a personal and professional level. As she began exploring new business opportunities, she wanted to find something rooted in health and wellness.
“My daughter and my husband have autoimmune diseases, and I wanted to find a business that actually helps that naturally as well.”
Just as importantly, she wanted to create a business that would contribute something positive to the community. “I wanted a business that brought positive energy and positive experiences to the community.”
According to Rachel, The Tox can do both, offering a wellness-focused experience while introducing something unique to Woodinville’s growing Harvest development.
While wellness and wine may not seem like an obvious pairing at first, she believes the concept is a natural fit for Harvest’s location in the heart of Woodinville wine country.
“The one area that we’re building in is the wine district in Woodinville. So it’s a good match for us.” She even sees an unexpected connection between the two.
“When people are drinking and enjoying themselves within the winery, then they can come to us and detox their body afterwards.”
The experience itself is designed to challenge expectations as well. While lymphatic drainage treatments are sometimes associated with clinical or spa-like environments, The Tox takes a very different approach.
“Everything is black. Everything’s blacked out. We even have black toilet paper in the bathrooms.”
The music, she said, will lean more toward upbeat pop than traditional spa playlists, and each day will feature a different mantra intended to leave guests with a positive message to carry into their routine.
“It’s hip and trendy. You’re gonna come in there and feel like a new person when you walk out.”
As Harvest continues moving toward opening, Rachel said she looks forward to introducing Woodinville residents and visitors to a wellness experience unlike anything she had encountered before.
“It’s a unique experience. I can’t compare it to anything that I’ve experienced.”
