A new Irish pub is preparing to open its doors soon in Murray Hill. Opening at 939 Edgewood Ave S, the veteran- and woman-owned O’Mara Irish Pub will offer beer, wine, pub fare, and lots of live music.

“We’re going to start out with basic pub food,” co-owner Amy Tomb told What Now on Friday. “Pizza, wings, boiled peanuts, popcorn, charcuterie boards. We’re trying to get the doors open as soon as possible. Once we’re open, we’ve got plans in place to start doing Irish food: Reubens, corned beef dinners, and a Steak Bake once a month.”

Inside, you’ll find the décor of an Old World Irish Pub, Tomb says.

“There’s a beautiful copper epoxy bar, green décor, and beautiful lighting. Our best description is something like a dive bar, but a few points higher.”

With seating for about 100 guests, O’Mara Irish Pub will also have a stage for live music and plans to do open-mic style jam nights, where guests can join in on the music.

O’Mara Irish Pub is working to open by the end of the month.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
