Brown Bear Car Wash is expanding its footprint on the Eastside with the acquisition of a Bellevue property previously occupied by Elephant Car Wash, according to a recent report from the Puget Sound Business Journal.
The Seattle-based company acquired the site at 12900 NE Bel-Red Road, near Bellevue’s Wilburton neighborhood. The property was previously operated by Elephant Car Wash.
Renovations are expected to be completed by the end of the year, paving the way for Brown Bear’s newest Eastside location. An opening date has not yet been announced.
The acquisition marks another step in Brown Bear Car Wash’s ongoing growth strategy in the region. Located along the Bel-Red corridor, the new site will further strengthen the company’s presence in one of Bellevue’s fastest-growing areas.
The company, which was founded in Seattle in 1957 by Victor Odermat, has grown from a single location in Interbay to one of the largest car wash operators in Washington. Today, Brown Bear operates more than 45 locations across the state.
Brown Bear offers a variety of services, including tunnel washes, touchless washes, and self-serve facilities.
