UFC Gym is expanding its reach across the Greater Houston area. According to a recently filed permit, the new UFC Gym is expected to open in the Westchase Center at 9795 Westheimer Rd.
The permit further states that construction on the new gym is planned to start in August and wrap up by the end of January 2027. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated million-dollar construction project, the new Houston UFC Gym should open by early 2027.
At the helm of the opening is UFC Gym’s Michael Nassif. What Now Houston reached out to Nassif, who confirmed the opening and shared that the team has not yet broken ground.
“To be modeled after models in California and Florida. Combo of fitness for all,” Nassif said in a text with What Now.
Unfortunately, Nassif was unable to share further information by the time of this publication. But, we suspect we will hear from him soon. So keep your eyes locked here for the latest.

UFC Gym got its start in 2009. Founded as a partnership between the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and fitness industry executives Mark Mastrov and Jim Rowley, the founders of New Evolution Ventures (NEV). It was created to bring professional mixed martial arts (MMA) training techniques and conditioning to the general public, rather than just professional fighters.
In 2013, the brand began international expansion with its first overseas location in Australia. The same year, UFC Gym acquired and began converting LA Boxing facilities into its own branded clubs. Today, the franchise has grown to include hundreds of locations worldwide.
UFC Gym has more than 150 locations worldwide, operating in 37 countries, with ongoing expansions in dozens of countries. There are only two in Texas: one in El Paso and one in The Heights in Houston. This second opening coming to Houston will be a welcome addition to the fitness community.
UFC Gym is anticipated to open within the Westchase Center at 9795 Westheimer Rd by early next year.
