Goop Kitchen, a California-based delivery-and-takeout restaurant concept associated with Gwyneth Paltrow, is preparing to open a new location at Triton Center on the University of California, San Diego campus in La Jolla.
The company’s second San Diego County location is set to join the new Triton Center development, according to leasing materials first reported by SanDiegoVille. Goop Kitchen has already announced plans to open at One Paseo in Carmel Valley, making the UC San Diego location another step in the brand’s local expansion. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, Triton Center is expected to open in phases beginning in Fall 2026. Customers can expect Goop Kitchen’s menu of health-focused meals developed under the direction of culinary lead Kim Floresca.
Founded in 2021, Goop Kitchen operates as an extension of the lifestyle brand founded by Gwyneth Paltrow. The concept focuses on prepared meals made with ingredient-conscious recipes and a menu designed to accommodate a variety of dietary preferences. Since launching, the company has expanded across Southern California with a growing network of pickup and delivery locations.
The upcoming restaurant will be part of Triton Center, a new campus village project currently under development at UC San Diego. The approximately $453 million project spans about 332,000 square feet across a 10-acre site and will include an alumni and welcome center, student health and wellness facilities, administrative offices, event venues, gallery space, retail storefronts, and the Triton Plaza public gathering area. Leasing materials identify Goop Kitchen as one of three food tenants planned for the development.
Other announced restaurant tenants include Jeff’s Beach Burgers and Intermission Cafe. Jeff’s Beach Burgers opened in La Jolla Shores in 2022 and serves burgers, fries, hot dogs, milkshakes, beer, and wine. Intermission Cafe has not yet been publicly detailed, and one additional retail or restaurant space remains available within the project. This will be an excellent landing space for Goop Kitchen, given the scale of UC San Diego’s campus population and its continued growth plans.
