Firehouse Subs is adding the Smokin’ Honey Chicken Melt and Smokin’ Honey Steak Melt to its sandwich lineup. The sandwiches feature a new honey chipotle sauce and will be available at participating locations. The chain is also introducing the limited-time Cookies & Crème Cookie.

Firehouse Subs Broadens Its Melt Offerings

According to PR Newswire, the fast casual chain will begin serving the new sandwiches on July 6, 2026. They join the recently introduced Steak & Cheese Melt. The Smokin’ Honey Chicken Melt contains about 55 grams of protein, while the Smokin’ Honey Steak Melt contains about 47 grams.

Both sandwiches feature a honey chipotle sauce with sweet, smoky, and mildly spicy flavors. Both sandwiches also include provolone cheese, red and green bell peppers, and brown sugar-caramelized onions.

The Chicken Melt features sliced white meat grilled chicken breast, while the Steak Melt features flame-seared USDA Choice prime rib. The ingredients are served on Firehouse Subs’ signature toasted roll.

Carolina Berti, Chief Marketing Officer of Firehouse Subs, said, “Guests fell in love with our Steak & Cheese Melt, and that told us they wanted more from this lineup.”

Berti also highlighted the new honey chipotle sauce featured in both sandwiches. “We built the Smokin’ Honey Melts around a new chipotle sauce we couldn’t stop tasting — smoky, a little sweet, with just a mild kick.”

Limited-Time Dessert Also Joins the Menu

Firehouse Subs is also introducing the limited-time Cookies & Crème Cookie. The limited-time dessert features a blonde cookie, which is made with white crème chips and chocolate sandwich cookie pieces.

Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida. It was founded by the brother duo of Chris and Robin Sorensen, who were former firefighters. The chain also supports first responders through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Firehouse Subs is a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International, which also owns Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes.

The recent announcement reflects Firehouse Subs’ consistent emphasis on bringing innovative menu offerings from time to time.
