Dick’s Sporting Goods is bringing a new store to Central Texas, with plans to open a location at Kyle Park. According to public filings, the sporting goods retailer will open a new store at 255 Kyle Park Avenue, Suite 1000. What Now Austin reached out to representatives for Dick’s Sporting Goods to inquire about an opening timeline but did not hear back by the time of publication.
The chain offers a full range of sporting goods, including sports equipment, athletic apparel, footwear, and accessories for individual and team sports, as well as outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and hunting. Dick’s stores also typically feature specialty shop-in-shop areas dedicated to categories such as golf, fitness, and footwear.
According to reporting from SGB Media Online, Dick’s is partnering with Western wear retailer Boot Barn to anchor the development, with both retailers building side-by-side stores. The addition would push the number of Dick’s locations in the Austin metro to five, and Boot Barn’s to seven, as the two chains continue their push into fast-growing suburbs along the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has also been is in the middle of a nationwide growth streak. What Now has been tracking across several markets. That includes new locations in Forney, House of Sport concepts headed to Cherry Hill Mall and Northern Virginia, and a new store at Lake Nona West in Orlando, with Kyle Park now marking its next foothold in Central Texas.
