A California-based chain is landing in Chicagoland sometime in the future.
The Angry Chickz team is teasing their first Illinois location coming to Aurora. Like the other locations, this will also be a franchised restaurant. An exact address hasn’t been released, but it will debut in the suburb soon.
Angry Chickz has 41 locations across the U.S., including in California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas. It was started in 2018 by founder David Mkhitaryan, first opening a 900-square-foot restaurant in East Hollywood. The team is also gearing up to open in Kingston, Pennsylvania.
“The vision was simple: serve the best hot chicken with the best customer service,” says the description on their website.
The chain is known for their sizzling Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, along with chicken tenders over toast, served with pickles and fries. Their sauce spice ranges from no heat to angry, and is available on any slider or tender. Bowls are also available, like the hangry fix with cut up tenders, mac & cheese, slaw and signature sauce.
In a post, the team announced that a grand opening date is “coming soon.” What Now Chicago has reached out to the franchisee for the new location and is awaiting comment.
