Denver shoppers could soon have two new ALDI grocery stores as the retailer continues to grow across the city.
Concept plans for the proposed locations at 9111 E. 40th Avenue and 18453 E. 57th Avenue are currently under review by the City of Denver, according to Naked Denver.
One proposal calls for a 19,432-square-foot grocery store at Runway 35 South, near Interstate 70 and Central Park Boulevard. Plans for the site include beer and wine sales and more than 100 parking spaces.
If approved, the new stores would further expand ALDI’s footprint in the Denver metro area, adding to the retailer’s growing network of discount grocery stores.
Founded in Germany in 1946, ALDI has become one of the world’s largest discount grocery chains, offering a selection of fresh produce, meat, dairy products, pantry staples, frozen foods and household essentials. The retailer is known for its streamlined shopping experience, private-label brands and value-focused pricing.
Earlier this year, ALDI announced plans to expand into Colorado over the next five years, with more than 50 stores planned across the Denver and Colorado Springs markets, supported by a new distribution center.
No dates have been mentioned as yet about the two proposed Denver locations.
