Called Cantina Harlem, an upcoming East Harlem spot will blend traditional Tex-Mex influences with essential American dishes. Located at 355 E 116th St., the restaurant will have tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and more, the cornerstone of its menu, according to a permit filing with Community Board 11. However, the menu will also feature Latin-inspired hamburgers and a trio of pasta dishes. The restaurant’s specialty brunch menu highlights morning favorites like avocado toast, hearty breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, and traditional chilaquiles. While some might see the menu as a culinary fusion, it also ensures there is something for just about every diner. What Now New York has reached out for more information.

Cantina Harlem will occupy a two-story space designed for both dining and socializing. The first floor will feature a central bar to anchor the venue’s beverage program as owners seek a full liquor license. With 15 indoor tables and 35 seats, the atmosphere promises to be intimate yet lively. Cantina Harlem intends to serve the neighborhood as a late-night destination, operating daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The permit filing also indicated a happy hour that will end at 7 p.m., making it an ideal spot for post-work drinks or late-night cravings in the heart of East Harlem.
