A new neighbourhood bar is preparing to make its debut in Uptown Westerville later this month, according to 614Now.
The Blind Pour is expected to open by the end of July at 20 S. State St., tucked behind Java Central and High Banks. The concept is a partnership between longtime friends Dino Tripodis and Chris Beardman, who say the project has been years in the making.
Tripodis told 614Now that he and Beardman had spent years talking about opening the kind of bar they would want to visit themselves. After two decades, the opportunity finally came together, made even more meaningful by its location next to Fat Arnie’s, another family-owned business.
Rather than creating a traditional bar, the pair set out to build a welcoming gathering place inspired by the atmosphere they cultivated while entertaining friends at home.
According to Tripodis, the concept is designed to capture the feeling of gathering at a friend’s home, where great conversation, food, drinks and music encourage guests to relax and linger. He hopes visitors will see The Blind Pour as a welcoming neighbourhood spot for meeting friends and unwinding.
Tripodis added, while speaking to the publication mentioned above, that the concept is intentionally simple.
“We’re not trying to be anything other than what we are,” he said. “Two guys who want you to feel like you’re home in a living room for everybody.”
An official opening date has not yet been announced, but the owners are targeting late July for the debut.
