Bottega Volo, an Italian café, bottle shop, and specialty food retailer, is getting ready to open a second location in Toronto’s Junction Triangle at the Clock Factory Building at 1485 Dupont Street.
The company’s second location will move into a space behind the recently closed Pizzeria Defina, according to TorontoLife. The new shop is expected to open later in Fall 2026 and will serve as both a neighborhood café and the headquarters for the company’s growing retail and import business. Customers can expect coffee, wine, Italian pantry items, imported beer and wine, and all-day snacks.
Co-owner Julian Morana tells the publication that the project grew out of the company’s search for warehouse space to support its expanding import operations. Rather than leasing a traditional warehouse, the team decided to create a destination that combines storage, retail, and hospitality under one roof. In addition to serving customers throughout the day, the new location will house imported beer kegs and products distributed through the family’s Keep6 Imports business.
Bottega Volo first opened in Little Italy near Birreria Volo after launching as a pandemic-era business pivot. According to Morana, the business originally focused on takeout versions of menu items before expanding into imported food, wine, and specialty beverages. Today, Keep6 Imports brings in products from several countries, including wines, Lapos non alcoholic negronis, Siesta & Co. Galician tinned fish, conservas, and other specialty grocery items.
The Junction Triangle location is designed to function as a neighborhood gathering place throughout the day. Morana said he and his brother Tomas were inspired to create more of a daytime café concept as their lifestyles changed after becoming parents. The growing Dupont corridor, which has attracted businesses such as Dotty’s and Osler Records, made the area a natural fit for the company’s next chapter. This will be an excellent landing space for Bottega Volo as more food and beverage businesses continue opening nearby.
The new property will also become the future home of the Cask Days beer festival, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in October 2026. Morana said the site has enough capacity, including access to the parking lot with the landlord’s permission, to host the annual event. Beyond Cask Days, the team plans to use the space for beer tastings, brewery showcases, educational events, and festivals throughout the year.
