A new sushi concept will bring fresh rolls and Japanese fare to the Upper East Side this fall.

Sushi Genkai, owned by Wen Liu, will open at 445 E. 78th St., between York and First avenues, according to business filings.

Liu told Whatnow New York City the 600-square-foot restaurant will offer an intimate omakase experience centered around a sushi bar.

Omakase is a Japanese dining style in which chefs select and prepare a progression of courses, typically highlighting seasonal fish and other premium ingredients.

Although details are still limited, the team is eager to serve the Upper East Side community.

“I’m excited to meet all the customers, meet new people and talk to the people. I really enjoy it,” Liu said.

Sushi Genkai is targeting a September opening, though an official opening date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned!
