The Bull BBQ Pit, a Southern-inspired barbecue restaurant specializing in slow-smoked meats, is getting ready to open a third Toronto location.

The company’s new location will take over the former Insieme space in Liberty Village, which closed shortly after opening in November 2024, according to BlogTO. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, signage for the new restaurant is already visible, and the business has teased the upcoming opening on its official Instagram account. Customers can expect The Bull BBQ Pit’s signature barbecue menu featuring smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and Southern-inspired side dishes.

The Bull BBQ Pit currently operates two Toronto locations at 1216 St. Clair Avenue West and 2790 Dundas Street West. The brand originally started in St. Catharines, Ontario, before expanding into Toronto, opening its first city location in 2021. The Liberty Village restaurant will mark the company’s third Toronto location as it continues growing its presence in the region.

The restaurant focuses on traditional barbecue methods using hardwood smoking techniques to prepare its meats. According to the company’s website, the menu is built around slow-smoked barbecue, including premium cuts, house-made sides, and dishes inspired by Southern cuisine. The Bull BBQ Pit has developed its following through its combination of smoked meats, casual dining, and comfort food offerings.

Owner Omar Fawzy has spent decades working in the restaurant industry, starting his career in 1986 before eventually opening his own restaurant. The Bull BBQ Pit originally operated in St. Catharines for eight years, where it became a local staple before moving into Toronto. Fawzy continues to work with a team that includes longtime employees from the original location.

The new Liberty Village restaurant will add another barbecue option to a neighborhood known for its mix of restaurants, residential buildings, and businesses. This will be an excellent landing space for The Bull BBQ Pit, giving the brand another opportunity to bring its smoked meats and Southern-inspired menu to a growing Toronto community.
