Râz, a new restaurant focused on Persian cuisine, is getting ready to open in downtown Dundas at 65 King Street West.
The new restaurant is set to move into the former home of Pinbones, which recently relocated to 44 King Street West, according to Urbanize. Owner Maro Al Chamaa tells WhatNow Toronto that he expects to open this restaurant on September 15th, 2026. This is the latest from the team behind Bohemian Beirut at 90 King Street West. Râz will build on what Bohemian Beirut has established in Dundas, with customers able to expect a concept centered on Persian flavors.
The name “Râz” translates from Persian as “secret” or “mystery,” reflecting the restaurant’s understated introduction to the community. At the time of publication, additional details about the menu and overall concept had not been released.
For now, the storefront is keeping its plans under wraps. The windows at 65 King Street West are covered with patterned displays and a sign reading, “Curious, eh? Nothing to see here. It’s just another restaurant.” The display also points curious passersby to “the guy in the fedora across the way at 90 King Street West,” a reference to Al Chamaa and his nearby Bohemian Beirut restaurant.
Râz will introduce another independent dining option to King Street West while expanding Al Chamaa’s presence in downtown Dundas. With Persian cuisine at the center of the concept and more details expected in the coming weeks, the restaurant is preparing to welcome its first customers later this year.
