Chocolat de Kat is preparing to open a new location at The James, a Tricon Residential development near Yonge and Price streets in Toronto’s Summerhill neighborhood, according to Toronto Life. The chocolatier’s website lists its Summerhill shop as coming in fall 2026.

Founded by Kata Ambrus in 2018, Chocolat de Kat specializes in handcrafted chocolates, including filled bonbons made in small batches. According to the company’s website, Ambrus started the business to develop bonbons with distinctive flavors and detailed designs. The company later expanded its production with a chocolate factory and retail shop at 300 Campbell Avenue in Toronto.

The chocolatier’s product range includes bonbons, chocolate bars, seasonal collections, and gift boxes. Its website features flavors inspired by desserts and other ingredients, with options available for individual purchases and gifts. The company also offers wholesale products and corporate gifting services.

The new shop will join other retail and food businesses planned for The James, a Tricon Residential development near Scrivener Square. The project includes ground-floor retail space and a pedestrian-oriented retail area. Other announced tenants include Mamakas, Gee Beauty, Nutbar, Dear Grain Bakery and Bluboho.
