Philadelphia’s floral scene is about to blossom as a family-owned flower shop opens its third location this summer.
Robertson’s Flowers & Events, founded in 1927, will be located at The Comcast Center at 1701 John F. Kennedy Blvd.
The new shop joins the company’s other locations in Chestnut Hill and Bryn Mawr, along with its design studio and warehouse in Wyndmoor.
“We’ve been delivering to Philadelphia for almost 100 years, but really being there in front of our clientele is really important. For what we sell, to see it in person, smell it, see the textures and colors, it’s a good, authentic experience,” Taylor Ferry, president of Robertson’s, told Whatnow Philadelphia.
The Center City location will offer grab-and-go bouquets, fresh floral arrangements, indoor plants and curated giftware, with flowers and plants serving as the primary focus. Delivery service also will be available.
“We like to buy what’s in season. We like to buy locally when we can, and that’s an extremely seasonal aspect. There’s definitely some overlap between seasons, but we want it to be fresh. We want each season to have its new breath of life,” he said.
The team looks forward to bringing the shop to the city.
“We’re excited because people are excited. Comcast is excited about us being on-site. It’s just injecting a lot of life and energy into an almost 100-year-old company. We realized what a good opportunity it was to celebrate 100 years,” Ferry said.
Robertson’s Flowers & Events plans to open Aug. 20. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
